Gary Olson – President (Interim)
As Minnesota native, Gary enjoys the four seasons here – especially winter and the opportunity for skiing the Colorado Mountains. Gary has an undergraduate degree from U of Minnesota combined with a Masters in Business Administration from Auburn. After retiring from the Air Force as a Lieutenant Colonel with 23 years of service, he worked 18 years as a contractor supporting FAA telecommunications systems. He sang in high school and college choirs as well as church and community choruses for years – he “found” Barbershop and joined the ATB Chorus in 2012.
Eric Gilbertson – Secretary
Eric Gilbertson joined America the Beautiful Chorus in the summer of 2023 but has been singing and performing as long as he can remember. His first introduction to barbershop was in college singing for the Purdue Varsity Glee Club. Eric works as an engineer for Booz Allen Hamilton.
John Becker – Treasurer
John has been a member of the America the Beautiful Chorus for 6 years and currently sings Lead. John has also been a part of the Velcro quartet as a tenor performing around Colorado Springs. Apart from Barbershop, John is part of the Oasis band singing lead and playing rhythm guitar. The band performs at various Independent and Assisted living facilities across town. Other singing events include cantor and choir member of his church. He retired from IT after 38 years.
James Boothe – VP Membership
Born in Louisiana, James grew up in Colorado since he was 4 years old. James joined ATB in 2022 and sings baritone in the chorus. James started singing in elementary school through high school. He sang in Madrigals, Sons of Harmony and concert choir and served as VP in Madrigals and Sons of Harmony. James has Associates degrees in Accounting and Business Administration plus a Bachelors degree in Business Administration. James was in the restaurant business for 25 years serving as wine captain, training manager, and general manager. James has owned his own business Westside Hot Dogs and More llc. Recently James transitioned to the retail side as a Merchandiser for Empire Marketing.
Dylan Mosley – VP Publicity & Marketing
Dylan is getting back into singing after a long hiatus. In 2001 he was a working actor, who joined the army following 9/11. He ended up in the Springs where he infiltrated the local theater scene, and now he’s found a home singing lead with ATB Chorus!
John Chase – VP Music and Performance
John grew up an Air Force Brat and truly began calling Colorado home while in college. He graduated from Adams State College (now University) with a Business degree and a minor in Vocal Music. He has been working in retail management with Walmart for over 20 years and volunteers as an Assistant Scout Master to a local Scout BSA troop. While growing up, John sang in many school and church choirs and has been singing barbershop since he was 14 when his dad got him started with the craft. John can also be found directing the barbershop chorus in Pueblo, CO, where he is also currently serving as President.
Scott McLauthlin – Member At Large
Scott started singing barbershop in 1980 as a baritone with the San Antonio Chordsmen. Retiring in Colorado Springs as an Air Force Colonel after 30 years of service, Scott has sung baritone with both the Peak Experience and America The Beautiful Choruses. Scott served as chapter president of the Peak Experience Chorus and is back to support the America The Beautiful Chorus as a Member At Large. Scott has been working as a civilian attorney in the legal office at the Air Force Academy since 2011.
George Mammarella – Member At Large
George has loved singing as long as he can remember, but sang more formally starting with school choirs. He started singing barbershop over 10 years ago and it became one of his favorite styles to sing. He has competed and enjoyed some success in choruses and quartets at District and International levels, but most enjoys bringing music to his community. When not singing, you’ll find George spending time with his wife Lauren and their menagerie of pets, playing video games, or working as a software engineer.
Scott Thomason – Member At Large
Scott is a native of Virginia and grew up in the shadow of the Nation’s Capital. After college, where he earned an Aerospace Engineering degree, Scott served in the USAF for 17 years, primarily in engineering and acquisition positions. After retirement from the service, he served in engineering positions at defense contractors for over 23 years. Scott sang with church choirs for 35 years before retiring to the mountains of CO. After attending several ATB Chorus shows, he was recruited by a current chorus member, and now sings baritone in the chorus.
Dennis Doyle – Immediate Past President
Dennis served in the U.S Army for 34 years and has been enjoying retirement for 9 years. During his time in uniform, he and his wife saw a lot of the world as they moved 22 times. They fell in love with the Front Range while serving at Fort Carson so decided to retire here. Dennis served as a MEDEVAC pilot, a healthcare administrator, commanded 6 times and deployed twice to Iraq and once to Afghanistan. Dennis has been singing in the lead section for approximately 8 years.
Jim Clark – Chorus Director Ex Officio
Jim sings Lead with the 2010 International Quartet Champions, Storm Front. Jim has been singing barbershop for most of his life and is surrounded by a family of barbershop singers. Jim lives in Aurora, Colorado and commutes to Colorado Springs to direct the America the Beautiful chorus.
